Oral Fluid Drug Testing Can Provide Many Benefits to Your Practice
We are excited to provide our physician clients with a simple, clean and accurate way to perform drug screening - at no out-of-pocket cost. The oral fluid swab test is designed to give providers an insight into a patient's prescription adherence and improve their treatment outcomes. Oral fluid (saliva) results give an actual drug concentration of what is in the body, at the time of the test. Think of saliva as equivalent to blood serum, through the oral glands, instead of a needle. The process provides physicians with:
The laboratory provides all necessary specimen collection and shipping supplies at no cost to our clients. The specimen collection and shipping supplies include:

When Should You Administer an Oral Fluid Test to a Patient?
Prescribing a schedule II or schedule III narcotic is a liability concern for any practice and testing your patients protects your practice and keeps you in compliance with DEA regulations and guidelines.
Most practices realize that drug testing is a fast and easy way to improve patient care, while lowering practice liability and patient medication misuse and/or abuse. We highly recommend that each practice set a standard for drug testing which should include the following situations:
• Each time you take on a new patient to establish a baseline for the patient’s profile.
• Each time you write a new script, switch medications, or add a new drug. This baseline testing will help you monitor drug dosage and confirm patient compliance with medication regimens (confirmation screening).
• Each time a patient calls for a refill prior to the expiration of a current prescription.
The cost for oral fluid drug testing should never be a hindrance to any practice. The practice does not pay for any oral fluid drug test out-of-pocket. The idea behind oral fluid testing is to provide better patient care, patient safety, and practice safety.
Waters ACQUITY UPLC Technology
The laboratory uses the Waters ACQUITY UPLC (Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography) system. This technology provides the most sensitive results that will quantify each drug individually with confirmations as low as 1 ng/mL.
Waters ACQUITY UPLC technology has been adopted successfully in laboratories around the world for the most demanding separations. It is a highly robust, dependable, and reproducible system.
Improved Chromatographic Performance = Superior Results
Faster Turnaround Times = Customers Receive Results Earlier
Waters ACQUITY UPLC using 1.7-µm particles provide significantly more information while reducing run times. UPLC presents the possibility to extend and expand the utility of chromatography. Scientists have found that by utilizing UPLC technology, a six-fold improvement in throughput can be realized. This reduces cost per sample and time of analysis considerably, while maintaining or improving separation integrity. UPLC has been instrumental in facilitating unprecedented improvements in all fields of analytical chemistry; none more so than in the area of liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS). Novel particle technology, low carryover, and reduced cycle times have enabled extremely high-efficiency separations for improved resolution and sensitivity and increased throughput. UPLC also uses fewer solvents like acetonitrile which is more environmentally friendly.
